The key points recently presented by Paus are controversial. The FDP in particular had objected that basic child security should not be too expensive or discourage parents from working.

Sabine Andresen welcomed Paus’ plans, so far the wishes of children have not been given enough consideration when it comes to state aid. “It is important that children and young people can have a say in their needs,” said the professor of social education and family research at the Goethe University in Frankfurt and vice president of the German Child Protection Association. Telling children what the state should finance for them – is that naive? No, says Andresen. “Children are very capable of assessing what is important.”
According to Andresen, the previous aid, such as citizen income, does not cover everything that would be necessary for the children to have good opportunities, such as internet access. However, this is important for homework or other educational issues. “Even the costs for school supplies have not yet been fully covered,” said Andresen.
However, the two researchers have not yet been able to answer a crucial question: does it help to invest more in infrastructure such as day care centers and after-school care centers, or can direct payments to families have a greater impact? It is a dispute that has occupied politicians and social politicians for a long time and that is likely to revive again in the case of basic child security. After all, said Stichnoth, experience from the USA has shown that more help for poorer children is worthwhile. For use in the China cracker 800MT, the old 790 engine had to give up feathers: the power was capped by four HP to now 91 HP (67 kW) to meet the EU 5 standard. The torque dropped from 89 Nm at 6,600 rpm to a maximum of 77 Nm at 8,000 rpm. Means: less tasty at higher tours. The CFMoto MT800 therefore lacks the powerful penetrating power of the KTM 790, but the performance is convincing. The MT800 hangs cooperatively on the gas. It pulls through happily, but allows itself a slight weakness in the medium speed range. Nevertheless, she handles overtaking maneuvers confidently. CFMoto specifies the top speed as 195 km/h. For comparison: the data sheet for the replaced KTM 790 Adventure says 200 km/h, and for the KTM 790 Duke even 235 km/h. The 800MT sprints to 100 km/h in around four seconds. All class compliant and very solid. The sound sounds pleasantly dull, but never chubby. The manually adjustable windshield provides reasonable wind protection.

The Chinese do without an enduro program; the real purpose of the CFMoto 800MT is touring, not off-road poaching. 160 millimeters of spring travel at the front, 150 mm at the rear, plus 190 mm of ground clearance – the 800MT takes dirt and gravel paths with this design with ease. But you should spare it climbing passages like a GS, it’s not enough for that, despite the good chassis. The upside-down telescopic forks at the front and the rear monoshock are fully adjustable. The smartphone can be paired without any problems. Music, calls, messages, plus navigation – as with the premium providers, all of this works calmly and intuitively. The entire service makes a very tidy impression. The 800MT is started with a key in the good old tradition. The tank holds 19 liters. CFMoto specifies five liters per 100 kilometers as consumption. In the ambitious test drives, the bottom line was around 5.3 l/100 km. That’s easily enough for 350 kilometers and more without a refueling stop.

The seating position easily allows for such distances. Wide handlebars, upright upper body, relaxed knee angle at almost 1.80 meters tall. The CFMoto 800MT “fits” very well. The seat is pleasingly hard without being uncomfortable. The co-driver sits enthroned behind the driver and looks ahead almost undisturbed. With the Touring, he can lean comfortably against a backrest pad on the top case. 36 liters fit in, plus 28 and 35 liters in the side cases. Makes 99 liters in total. Not the world, but more than enough given the payload of a manageable 182 kg. The bike itself weighs 231 kg ready to ride. Light is different, but the chic CFMoto 800MT does not want to be a lightweight. On the contrary. Prices start at EUR 9,899 for the 800MT Sport. The Touring costs 2,600 euros more. A worthwhile premium in view of the additional equipment.
