2021 – The Berlin State Library Unter den Linden reopens after 16 years of renovation work. The concept of the 470 million expensive renovation comes from the architect Hans-Günter Merz.
2008 – Milk, meat and eggs are to be labeled more easily as GMO-free foods in the future. The Bundestag votes for a new genetic engineering law, with which stricter rules for the cultivation of GM maize can also come into force.
